Join us in a unique one day workshop focused on the most ancient and mellifluous of tonics—Mead!! This workshop goes beyond mead making. This is a sacred ceremony filled with the magick and wisdom of the bees & their honey, the plants, the waters, and the ancestors!!

Chris Park is a seasoned mead maker and connoisseur. He lives on an organic farm, where he practices skep beekeeping in the Vale of the White Horse. His work is wide and varied, from arts and craft, ancient technologies, experimental archaeology and educational projects to eco-building, storytelling, folk music, mental health projects, apitherapy, and raising the awareness of heritage beekeeping. He is a practicing Druid of the Order of Bards, Ovates & Druids, being immersed and versed in the folklore and spiritual traditions rooted within these honeyed isles. You will learn how to make meads and metheglins using wild yeasts, the aromas and flavour profiles of honey, and a wealth of tips and tricks to make a beverage that suits your taste.

We will connect with the honeybees and the medicine of honey and mead, including:

  • Ceremony and journeying

  • Water blessings and foraging

  • Honey and mead tastings

  • Learn about the preparation and use of mead—past and present, here and far, and the folklores & mythologies of medicine and magick.

  • Prepare your own mead

    **You’ll take away a demijohn full of mead in the making that will finish fermenting and maturing at your home.

Where: Bellspool, Peebles

When: Saturday, 5th October 9:45am-5pm

Sacred exchange:

£222 for individuals | £266 for 2 people

  • Open to 8 individuals or 16 people sharing. Sharing would be ideal for friends, couples or family members as you will be sharing the 1 gallon demijohn of mead, yielding 4-6 bottles.

  • Includes honey, wisdom, and most mead making supplies.
