Doreen has a deep love for the Earth Mother—Pachamama, Mother Gaia and all her beautiful creations… especially connected to the plants, flowers, trees, mountains, and dragon spirits. She enjoys playing in the garden and forests, harvesting and making herbal medicine, yoga, dancing, creating art, sharing ceremony, and guiding others in connecting to themselves, others, and Spirit while in the natural wonders of this planet.
Immersing herself in mysticism studies, the continuous evolution and transformation among the many transitions has positioned Doreen in a space to move from role of healer to teacher. While the intention has always been to guide and empower others on their journey to self-healing, the role of Bridge through teaching and mentorship with a focus on heart-centered wisdom, herbalism, plant medicine, and nature connection is at the heart and core of Embodied Rose offerings. Background
As a child, Doreen knew she wanted to be of service… specifically to children and the underserved… working with people of diverse backgrounds and abilities in a variety of settings for over 20 years. Committed to serving through education, teaching, advocacy, and healing—this journey has evolved over time including direct care work with people with physical and development differences, teaching middle school science and social studies, human rights advocacy work, wilderness and residential therapy, community-based mental health, and private practice.
Disheartened by the modern mental health and medical model in Western Society with a focus on dysfunction, Doreen has sought wholistic, spiritual trainings and teachings in order to best serve her clients. In doing so, she has also grown and healed personally (although this is a continuous, every evolving process of peeling back the many layers). As a Clinical Social Worker, Doreen has supported children, adolescents, adults, and families navigate and move through the heaviness and darkness of trauma experiences, supporting them in reconnecting to their bodies and hearts so that they may embrace this human life and the light of their souls. Interweaving person-centered Psychotherapy and EMDR Therapy with Yoga, Reiki & Subtle Energy Work, Traditional Herbalism, Eagle Condor Intensive Teachings & Andean Nature Mysticism, Earth-based Wisdom, Yew Tree Shamanism, Daoist Crystal & Stone Medicine, and Shamanic Priestess teachings.
In addition to her work with Embodied Rose, Doreen offers workshops, retreats and pilgrimages in both the U.S. and U.K.
